Designers Guide to Creating a White Layer for Flexible Packaging

Do you have an in-house designer or working with a creative agency that needs guidelines for developing a white layer for your artwork? Having correct visual artwork means you will be able to make important changes with ample time, instead of having to make knee jerk decisions!

Step 1: Open your Art file

Step 2: Create a new layer for your White plate

Step 3: Create a rectangle that bleeds off the artboard.

Step 4: Create a Spot Swatch named White

Step 5: Set this new layer to Overprint Fill.

Step 6: Knock out any elements that you do not want to be coloured White

And that’s your White layer!
