How2Recycle Program

How2Recycle is a standardized labeling system that communicates clear recycling instructions to consumers aiming to improve recycling rates and reduce contamination in the recycling stream.

Members login to the How2Recycle website to gain access to a portal and submit their flexible packaging structures to get qualified. Separate components of a rigid or flexible package cannot be individually qualified, and instead, require the whole package to be assessed.

Pre-Qualification

Since Associated Labels and Packaging is a custom flexible packaging company, we do not carry our own products, we are given access to pre-qualifying structures for the benefit of our customers. We have created pre-qualification examples in each of our flexible packaging offerings:

• Labels to Aluminum and Glass
• Stand-up Pouches
• Sachets
• Stick Packs
• Roll Stock
• Shrink Sleeve to PET bottle
• Lidding Film to PET tray

Customer Membership

Our customers are required to become members themselves in order to have access to using this labelling system on their packaging design. Our pre-qualified structures expedite customers receiving their own flexible packaging qualification. This qualification does not confirm or certify that your package is made up of certain types of flexible plastics, that it is eco-friendly packaging, or that it will be recycled.
