How Can Industries Align Themselves With The Paris Climate Agreement?

Earth Day, a record number of countries (over 155) have signed the Paris Climate Agreement today. Even the largest producers of Co2 such as China and USA have signed on. Countries will be attempting to build momentum off of the agreement, and it’s time industries did the same.

Consumers can see through green washing verbiage such as “All Natural” or “Going Green.” And it’s no longer enough to just recycle bottles and cans, or discontinue styrofoam cups. Industries around the world need to step up their game. Even if people don’t believe in climate change; being sustainable and preserving our natural environment is fundamentally the right thing to do.

Here at Associated Labels and Packaging we are trying our best to do our part, however is it going to be enough? We have researched and developed a 100% backyard compostable stand-up pouches, annually diverted over 300,000 lbs of waste from the landfill; discontinued our vanity shipping boxes; installed staff gardens and bee hives… Even with our best efforts, demand will continue and so will our waste as our population continues to grow. How can we break this vicious cycle?

Even though “Earth Day” is made up, it does remind us, if only for a day, what is really important to us and the next generation.  What does change look like in your industry? Here at Associated Labels and Packaging we would love to hear your ideas, please contact us with any comments or suggestions you may have.
