Summary: The Flexographic Press Operator prints designs or lettering on rolls of flexible plastic films, paper and non- absorbent stock. The press that will be operated is the LP3000

Primary Responsibilities for the Flexographic Printing Press Operator:

  • Reviews job orders and sets up printing press
  • Fills ink pans with prescribed inks and anilox rollers ( press station mechanism set up)
  • Adjusts levers to engage rolls, positions print cylinders to print up to a maximum of 10 colours without overlapping or smearing previously printed areas
  • Inserts shaft through cores of plastic roll or paper and secures roll on press in feed position
  • Splices end of roll to trailer remaining on press, using tape, and regulates tension and feed as directed
  • Starts press, adjusting speed, tensions, and alignment of printing plate as necessary
  • Sets up die stations for pressure sensitive labels that require proper size die cutting
  • Cuts samples of printed material from end of print roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off- center impressions or die-cutting
  • Follows quality control procedures as print jobs are being run
  • Troubleshoots to solve problems on press
  • Follow all safety and food-safe procedures and complies with company policies
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required to meet the needs of our operations

Qualifications for the Flexographic Printing Press Operator:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a flexographic printing press operator
  • Strong attention to detail and colour perception
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs

Graveyard: Sunday – Thursday, 10:30pm – 6:30am
